Maria Claudia

Maria Claudia migrated with her partner from Peru and has been living in Madrid for a few months. She is an audiovisual specialist who has decided to help other people in the same situation to also tell their story from the organization which she collaborates with: the Friends of Immigrants Association. With her volunteer work she wants to help a better integration of the migrant community with the local community. As she herself says: “At first, it is complicated because the people you talk to in your same situation find difficult for them to tell their story, not to tell your dreams or things as personal as what led you to leave your country”.

Maria Claudia emigró con su pareja desde Perú y lleva viviendo en Madrid unos meses. Especialista en audiovisuales, ha decidido ayudar a otras personas en su misma situación para que cuenten también su historia desde la organización con la que colabora: la Asociación Amigos de las Personas Inmigrantes. Con su labor voluntaria quiere ayudar a una mejor integración de la comunidad migrante con la comunidad local. Según cuenta ella misma: “Al principio es complicado porque con las personas que hablas en tu misma situación les cuesta contar su historia, no contar tus sueños o cosas tan personales como qué te llevó a abandonar tu país”.
